Terms of Service
Last updated · 2026-05-23
1. Acceptance
By accessing joolomee.com(the "Site") or engaging Joolomee for any service, you accept these terms in full. If you do not agree, please stop using the Site.
2. Who we are
"Joolomee" is the trading name of Joana Lopes Mesquita, a freelance designer and creative director based in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal. Contact: rememberme@joolomee.com.
3. Services
Services include brand strategy and identity, brand refresh and rebrand, web design and development, UI/UX, social media and marketing design, creative direction, and presentation and motion. Each engagement is governed by a separate written proposal specifying scope, timeline, deliverables, and price.
4. Quotes and proposals
Quotes are valid for 30 days. A 30 %–50 % deposit is required to start work (specified per proposal). Remaining balance is due on delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5. Intellectual property
- Final deliverables: all rights are transferred to the client upon full payment.
- Source files: available on request after final payment unless proposed otherwise.
- Joolomee portfolio rights: we reserve the right to show finished work in our portfolio and on social media, with no confidential information disclosed. NDA-bound projects are excluded.
- Third-party assets: stock photography, fonts, and plugins remain property of their respective licensors; their licenses are passed to the client.
6. Revisions and approvals
Each project phase includes an agreed number of revision rounds. Additional rounds beyond the agreed limit are billed at the hourly rate quoted in the proposal. Phases are deemed approved if no written feedback is received within 7 business days.
7. Timelines
Delivery dates are estimates and depend on timely client feedback and asset delivery. Delays caused by the client may shift the timeline without affecting the agreed fees.
8. Cancellation
Either party may cancel an engagement in writing. The client owes the time and milestones already delivered up to the cancellation date; deposits are non-refundable.
9. Confidentiality
We treat all client information as confidential. Standard NDAs are signed on request at no extra cost.
10. Warranty and liability
Services are provided "as is", without warranty of fitness for a specific business outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by Portuguese law, total liability is limited to the fees paid by the client for the engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, third-party claims).
11. Force majeure
Neither party is liable for delays caused by events outside reasonable control — natural disasters, internet outages, state actions, pandemics, hardware failures.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portimão, unless mandatory consumer law grants the client a different venue.
13. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. The current version is the one published on this page. Active engagements continue under the version in force at the date of the proposal.
